KLG are looking for a Buyer working from our Egham Offices. You will be keen to build and progress on the skills you have learnt, whilst gaining experience within the Commercial landscaping industry. Skills include the ability to provide good commercial awareness and acumen, a good team player, who can communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders and colleagues. Key Responsibilities:
The role will entail purchasing cost effective building materials and liaising with suppliers, ordering the correct quality and quantity to arrive on site at the right time.
You will work with the Contract Managers to develop a good working relationship with them so there can be sensible adjustments with materials and timings for the good of the business.
Experience of working on Commercial Projects for a subcontractor, ideally in the landscaping sector is desirable. You will be familiar with BOQ’s, take-offs, budgets, and schedules.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Procure materials on all live projects
- Negotiation with suppliers to ensure KLG are receiving the best prices and service from suppliers
- Procuring Materials and Plant Hire within budget
- Place orders and raise Purchase Orders (PO) for all materials required using the PlanErgy application.
- Reconcile POs against invoices received
- Produce procurement programme and monitor budgets
- Assist the Operational Departments with Sub-Contractor enquiries
- Work within the Operational Departments and assist as required
- Attend internal handover meetings
- Feeding back information to the estimating department on current market prices
- Monitor and agree rebates
- Cultivate relationships with key suppliers
- Be able to deliver cost savings and cost reduction, measure & review performance and implement continuous improvement.
- Evaluate supplier responses, negotiate with suppliers, and place orders in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all documentation is collated and stored in line with company policies
- Carry out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by Senior Management
